Meet Our Team & Learn StudentLife’s Story

Well I guess you can say we got our start from parents who at one time were hormonal teenagers themselves. Then just like that, from our first swat on the behind to our first Valentines dance, 13 years had past. We became our own community, governed by the powers that be called parents, hormones and pop-quizes. Our ideologies were crafted by breakups like Dilan and Kelly’s on 90210, or by who was topping the billboard charts in the music industry. Nonetheless, we were being sculpted into a certain “idea” from day one. Our parents were teenagers, we at one time were teenagers, and the phenomenon known as teenager continues to this day. We said all that to say, we were there once, we understand, we survived. We feel qualified to say, “That’s not a good idea.” or “Think about what your doing.” And with the wisdom that spews from our teenage wounds, combined with the Spirit of God, student worker resources, and great parents that are in the trenches with us, I say again we feel qualified to reach, teach, lead and love a community of students trying to find their purpose in life.

So we did the following:

1.  We built a team of student workers/super heroes to be voices that guide and instruct, not only through a classroom or large group setting, but a more hands on “discipling” approach involving everyday life. We have a team of Kid pastors (StudentLife Kids), Pre-teen pastors (WildSide), Jr High pastors (JHM), Sr High pastors (HSM) and College Pastors (College Age) that are each equipped with their own resources, case studies, curriculum and staff/team members to ensure a biblically sound road for the Journey of a student here at The Promise Center.

2.  We Think Orange. By combining the Light (Yellow) of the Church, with the Love (Red) of the Family we teach our families to view the world through an Orange film. We teach our families that they are the forefront of ministry in God’s kingdom, and that the church is a resource. We teach them to pray together daily, read the scriptures together daily, and worship together daily. We offer resources for every home’s situation: from single parent homes, to parenting children with disabilities. Our commitment is to be there for the Family every step of the way.

3.  Our team was birthed by the prayers of great men and women that believed God for his blessings and promises. Because of committed praying people, we now Exist to serve.

From the time a Student walks into their first class in grade school, to the time they walk across the stage in graduate school, StudentLife will be there every step of the way. We are more than just an event based ministry. We are a journey based ministry. We are designed to teach/disciple the student/family where they are currently at in life.  This is our Philosophy, this is our Guarantee to the Family.
